Rappahannock River
The river was a bit muddy at press time and a bit high but with a few days of decent weather the fishing was good. Catfish were biting well and crappie are still being caught but they are deep and on treetops.

Potomac River
Aqua Land (301 259-0572) reported good catfish action on cutbait. Plenty of anglers

were heading out over the weekend but the anglers were close lipped about what they were catching.
Ken’s Tackle (898-1011) reported Aquia Creek being good for crappie and bass. Try minnows.

Saltwater
Captain Ryan Rogers (804-580-0245) has been taking clients out and returning with some very pretty rockfish up to 40 and over 40 inches. Trolling has begun in earnest. The recent Casey Neal Rogers Tournament was indicative of a good fall and winter of rockfishing.
Ken’s Tackle has reported a surge in saltwater trolling gear sales too.

Hunting
Deer — The rut is now on the downhill slide. Bucks are now being seen solo again and not chasing does. Many does are grouping up and hunters are reporting tougher hunting conditions this past week. However, it is not the end all. Hunting can still be good but be flexible and shift your focus back to food and travel corridors. Another 8 point was checked into Ken’s Tackle and fourteen deer were checked into Pern’s (775-7817) this week. Dutch’s Mart also had three doe checked in. We appreciate hunters stopping by to check deer in. If you want your picture in the paper email us the pic. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Notes:
Remember it is illegal to feed deer now. NO deer feeders, mineral licks or attractants other than scents permitted.
