The Drifters 2010-2011 girls’ varsity basketball season may have fallen short of a District and Regional Championship, but it will always be remembered for posting 17 victories. Their final record of 8-2, 17-6 reflects the impact the team has had on the Northern Neck.

The Drifters continue to occupy the lower end of the district with Rappahannock and Washington & Lee; all of the aforementioned teams have two overall wins this season.

From the moment of the opening whistle, the game between the Drifter boys’ varsity basketball team and visiting Rappahannock Raiders resembled a track meet. For four quarters, the Raiders never showed any signs of they would relinquish the lead or any part of the word “momentum.”
“We attack teams when have the opportunity; however, sometimes we’re a little fast and have to watch how we control the ball,” Raider boys’ varsity head coach Brody Jackson said.
