Agnes Gayle Harris
Agnes Virginia Gayle Harris, 94, of King George County died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, surrounded by her family at her home, Aspen Grove Farm, where she was born and raised.
She was a graduate of Mary Washington College and Traphagen School of Design in New York City. She was a lifetime member of Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was active through the church on mission trips, including a trip to Alaska when she was 80 years old.
Mrs. Harris was on the Smoot Library Board, and she served as a director for the Frank C. Pratt Mental Health Board. Gardening was her favorite hobby, and she loved digging in her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis M. Harris Jr.; her parents, Thomas B. Gayle II and Nellie Pratt Gayle; her brothers, T. Benton Gayle III, Alex P. Gayle, Byron C. Gayle and Robert L. Gayle; her sisters, Esther G. Winston, Lillian G. Winston and Ruth G. Winston; and a son-in-law, Michael S. Pruett.
Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Pruett and Janet Gayle Harris, both of King George; grandchildren Elizabeth G. Weadon and her husband, Howard, and Bradford S. Pruett; great-grandson James Michael Weadon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Thursday, Sept. 16, in Glebe Cemetery, 1374 White Oak Road, Stafford County, with the Rev. Elfie Finn-McKenzie and the Rev. Keith Boyette officiating.

Maggie I. Davis
Maggie I. Davis, 93, of Colonial Beach passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
A funeral wa held Friday, Sept. 17, at Lee Funeral Home, King George.
Benny Franklin Martin
Benny Franklin Martin, 74, of Stafford County died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Martin was a member of Regester Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton C. Martin Sr. and Florence Saunders Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Martin of Stafford; two sons, Mark W. Martin(Sandra), N.C., and Barry K. Martin and his fiancee, Pam Toms, of King George County; a daughter, Sharon F. Martin-Brooks(Donald), of Spotsylvania County; four grandchildren, Samuel A. Martin, Ashley M. Craiger, Amanda E. Martin and Bruce H. Martin; a stepson, Ivan L. Grant(Esther), of Stafford; and a stepdaughter, Deborah L. Hall(Richard) , of King George.
Also surviving are three stepgrandchildren, Brian K. Grant, Jason S. Grant and Sherrell Borders; two stepgreat-grandchildren Devon Repass and Kyle H. Grant; three brothers, John R. Martin(Mary), of Woodbridge, Clarence W. Martin(June), of Stafford, and Newton C. Martin Jr. of Stafford; a sister, Edna M. Peatross of Spotsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, with the Rev. Theodore Smith officiating. Burial followed in Stafford Memorial Park.

Roger Paul Smith
Roger Paul Smith, 60, of King George County, formerly of Bradford, Pa., died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Smith was a self-employed CPA and was predeceased by his father, Paul C. Smith.
Survivors include his mother, Helen E. Smith of Bradford; his brothers and sisters, Karen Brennan(Art), of Blairsville, Pa., Gary Smith of Bradford, Eileen Tempero(Jim), of Brookline, Mass., Rodney Smith(Leslie), of King George, and Annette Hanke(Steve), of Celina, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bradford, Pa.

Gregory Allen Catlett
Gregory Allen Catlett, 23, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 in King George, VA.
He is survived by his son, Dante Green, two brothers, one sister and his girlfriend, Tana Green.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, to include Cherokee King and James Russell Devers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
