Elizabeth Mitchell Balderson
Elizabeth Mitchell Balderson, 102, of Warsaw went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2011.
She was the widow of C. Ashby Balderson, and a member of Rappahannock Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Carl Balderson and his wife, Jane, of Staunton; daughter Gail Dise of Woodbridge; brother Ira Mitchell of Bellefonte, PA; and sister Alma Fenwick of Montross. She is also survived by grandchildren Kevin Dise and wife Amber of Woodbridge, Allen Balderson and wife Colleen and Andrew Balderson, all of Louisville, KY; and great-grandchildren Christopher Balderson, Jason Dise and Kyle Dise.
The family received friends Friday, July 29, at Welch Funeral Home-Montross Chapel, 17546 Kings Highway, Montross.
A funeral was held Saturday, July 30, at Rappahannock Baptist Church, Newland, with interment in the church cemetery.

Alice H. Densmore
Alice H. Densmore, 62, of Colonial Beach passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at her residence.
Alice was a retired secretary and administrative chief with the U.S. Navy at Andrews Air Force Base. She was noted for her kindness, generosity and love of animals.
She is survived by her husband, retired Master Gunnery Sgt. Joe M. Schepers of the home; two daughters, Susan R. Tourville of Rising Sun, MD, and Wendy S. Stumpf of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Crystal, Chucky and David; two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Jamie; and her longtime best friend, Patricia Dutton.
A funeralwas held Saturday, July 30, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with the Rev. Richard Headley officiating. The family received friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment was held Monday, Aug. 1, at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Ronald K. Van Cleve
Ronald K. Van Cleve, 74, of Colonial Beach, formerly of Manassas, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital with family present.
Ronald was born in Sisseton, SD. He retired from the Fairfax County School Board. He was a member of American Legion No. 148 and Moose Lodge No. 1267, both in Colonial Beach.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Dorothy Crouch Van Cleve; three sons, Ronald K. Van Cleve Jr. and wife Katherine of Manassas, Curtis Wayne Van Cleve and wife Shelly of Austin, Texas, and Brian Scott Van Cleve and wife Peggy of Colonial Beach; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ruby Van Cleve; a brother, Russell Van Cleve Jr.; and a son, Larry Allen Van Cleve.
A funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. Ron Okrasinski officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Buckhall Cemetery in Manassas at 2 p.m.

Michael David Arthur
Michael David Arthur, 58, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Arthur of Fredericksburg; his son, David Arthur of Fredericksburg; sisters Alice Schuckel of Mount Airy, MD, and Mary Troxell of Lynn Haven, FL; as well as his nephew, Erik Schuckel of Brick, NJ, and cousin Peter Cook of Falls Church.
Michael was a devoted husband, and a loving father to his son, David. He enjoyed bicycle riding near the beach and skiing down the slopes. He received his doctorate in mathematical physics from Virginia Tech. He worked as a scientist at Dahlgren for more than 19 years.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at St. Matthias United Methodist Church, 426 Deacon Road, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, with a reception to follow.
