Denise Lynn Tucker Petree
Denise Lynn Tucker Petree, 49, of Sandston, VA, passed away November 12, 2011, in Richmond.
She was the Manager of Clinical Research for Alliance Research Group in Richmond.
Denise was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Lee Petree. She was the daughter of Peggy Lawler Tucker and the late Donald Tucker, both of Colonial Beach.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a sister Constance Tucker Kennedy (Bruce) of Ruther Glen; a brother David Tucker (Cindy) of Colonial Beach; her nephew Michael Abner of San Francisco, CA; and her niece Christina Tucker of Churchville, NY.
Burial will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the animal rescue organization of your choice.
William E. Dillon
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, William E. “Mickey” Dillon, 73, of Spotsylvania County, surrounded by his loved ones on Nov. 17, 2011, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
William was affectionately known to most as Mickey.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Evelyn Rodgers Dillon; his daughters, Tammy Peck (Eddie), Tina Gabbard and her fiance, Michael, and Teri Dillon and her fiance, Adam; 12 grandchildren, including Tylor Dillon, whom he raised; one great-granddaughter; and a special niece who looked up to Mickey as her own father, Virginia Carol Fines. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Carneal of Spotsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Gusty and Sadie Dillon of King George County, where he grew up and graduated from King George High School. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.
Mickey retired from Quantico in 1996, but had worked most of his life for United Van Lines, Hilldrup Transfer & Storage.
The family received friends Monday, Nov. 21, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service was held Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home chapel. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Thomas J. Blankenbaker, Shane Margrave, Ricky Blankenbaker, Ralph Williams, Adam Mills and Michael Fizer, and honorary pallbearers will be Charles Loving, Jeff Branham and William “Butch” Williams.

John F. Donley
John F. “Jeff” Donley, 86, of Colonial Beach died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Jeff was born June 7, 1925, in Bryan, Ohio, to James and Nora Donley.
He lived for most of his life in Vienna and moved to Colonial Beach in 2003.
He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine service.
He worked for most of his adult life as a sound engineer for NBC, including time with the White House press during the Carter and Reagan administrations. He served as vice president of the NABET Union, and was an active member of the Democratic Party.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Wheaton Donley; his four children, John Donley (Elizabeth), Jim Donley (Debbie), Jeff Donley (Tracey), and Lori Petterson (Dennis); 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
