Kay Morris Ryan, 76, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at her home.
Kay was born and raised in Mine Run and was a 1955 graduate of Orange County High School. She was the widow of Samuel F. Ryan.
Mrs. Ryan was a member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of the Mary Martha Sunday school class, was a longtime church librarian and a humble servant in various church activities.
Mrs. Ryan retired from First Virginia Bank. She was a community volunteer at the Fredericksburg Museum. Kay was a kind and gentle person who loved to laugh and make others happy.
Survivors include her children, Angela Powers (Leslie) of Fredericksburg and Jed Ryan (Melody) of King George County; four granddaughters, Rebecca Powers, Audrey Kay Ryan, Marie Powers and Abigail Ryan; and her brother, George Morris of Annapolis, MD. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Mason Ryan.
The family received friends Thursday, Nov. 29, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg
A service was held Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville.
