Melvin Curtis Cox, 77, of Colonial Beach passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Melvin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired clerk with the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years in Arlington and a member of the Colonial Beach Moose Lodge 1237 and American Legion Post in Colonial Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Haldane Cox.
Survivors include a brother, Clifford L. Cox of Colonial Beach; a sister, Ann Maxfield of Fairfax County; two nieces, Brenda Burns of King George County and Linda Storch; and a nephew, Kenneth Maxfield.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, June 11, in Historyland Memorial Park, King George.
