Alma Faye Snellings Hitt, 72, of Little River, Texas, formerly of Fredericksburg, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 10, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Madison Heights, surrounded by many loved ones.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Glenn Hitt of Little River; five children, Carl Michael Snellings of Little
River, Brenda Sue Morgan (Catfish) of Falmouth, Deborah Ann Payne of Fredericksburg, Tammy Faye Patterson (Ray Sprouse) of Madison Heights and Ann Lightaul (Fred) of Mount Airy, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Tabitha Kelley (Justin) of Fredericksburg, Crystal Gouldman (Ben) of King George County, Carl Snellings Jr. of Little Rock, Texas, Wayne Morgan (Veronica) of Fredericksburg, David Payne (Janet) and Melanie Hare (Mark) all of Spotsylvania County, Casey Patterson of Charleston, S.C., Thomas Patterson of Amherst and Billy Snellings of Little River; a twin sister, Anna Gaye Snellings of Falmouth; brother Harry Thomas of Mount Airy; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Faye also leaves behind her beloved dogs, B.B., Angel and Daisey. She was a wonderful and kind person with a heart of gold. She cared about everyone, even people she didn’t know. We know God needed a special angel, so he called our mom home. She will be truly missed every day, but our memories and love will last forever.
Faye loved to dance and we know she is in heaven dancing away.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Falmouth Cemetery.
