Mabel Irene Todd, 85, of Colonial Beach passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach.
Mabel was born in Alexandria on April 1, 1927, and married Wilmer F. Todd Sr. on Aug. 8, 1946.
Mabel worked as a school crossing guard for the Fairfax County Police Department for more than 22 years. She was also actively involved with the Democratic Party and was a member of the Methodist Church in Colonial Beach.
Mabel is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wilmer F. Todd Sr.; her son, Wilmer “Micky” Todd Jr. (Pam); four grandchildren, Leslie Hanson, Michael Todd (Wendy), Kris Baxter (Meghan), and Jessica McBride (Todd); 11 great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Mabel was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Baxter and her husband, Roger.
A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
