William “Bill” Kimmerling, 79, of Colonial Beach passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the University of Virginia Transitional Care Hospital, Charlottesville.
Bill had retired from NSWC Dahlgren and was very active in the Colonial Beach Community. He was a member of the American Legion for 46 years, a past member of the Colonial Beach Fire Dept. and the Colonial Beach Moose Lodge.
Bill is survived by three daughters, Bernadette Cloniger (Vernon), of Midland, Bernadine Kimmerling of Maine and Emily Childress (Joey), of Middletown, VA; a sister, Betty Ann Russell of Fairfax; six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat, Tigger.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Angelin R. Kimmerling.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, February 1 at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach with a service beginning at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
