Thomas C. “Tommy” Bland III, 69, of Colonial Beach passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at home.

Tommy was the owner/manager of Monroe Bay Landing Restaurant in Colonial Beach from 1992 to 2003. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Lodge and American Legion, all of Colonial Beach.

Survivors include his niece, Amanda Head of Colonial Beach; three great-nieces, Melissa Fortune, Nikki Robertson and Kaitlyn Head; great-nephew Tyler Head; great-great-nephew Daivian Smith; and many others who knew him as “Uncle Tommy.”

The family received friends, Sunday, Jan. 27, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.
A service was held Monday, Jan. 28, at the funeral home.

A private burial will be held in the Jackson family cemetery in Oak Grove.
