Mary Lucille “Peaches” Newsome, 91, of Tappahannock passed away at her daughter’s home Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.
She was the widow of Kenneth Lawrence Newsome. Peaches was a member of Rappahannock Christian Church, the XYZ Club and the Tappahannock Moose Lodge.
She is survived by two daughters, Thetis B. “Tina” Tomanovits of Mechanicsville and Patricia Faye Truslow (Kenneth), of King George County; one sister, Elsie Hale of Callao; her special friend, Marvin Johnson of King William County; four grandchildren, Karen Truslow, Jeff Truslow, and Maria Tomanovits Wagner and Tammy Tomanovits Farr and their father, John Tomanovits; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Friday, Jan. 25, at Marks-Bristow Funeral Home in Tappahannock.
A funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home. Interment followed in Rappahannock Christian Church cemetery.
