Hazel Perkins Gray died Thursday, Jan. 10 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.
Hazel was born May 22, 1919 in Charlotte, NC. She moved to Alexandria, VA at the age of 18 and married the love of her life Robert W. Gray. Hazel proudly raised 10 children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Gray, her eldest son Robert M. Gray, and her eldest daughter Delores Gray Wright.
Hazel leaves behind eight children, David Gray (Diana) of Columbia SC, Michael Gray (Jean) of Herndon, VA, Danny Gray (Sally) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, John Gray (Joyce) of Shenandoah, VA, Mary Walkup (Doug Janezeck) of Virgina Beach, VA, Cathy Steffey of Colonial Beach, Tim Gray (Darlene) of Spotsylvania, and Tom Gray of Colonial Beach, one sister, Katherine Perkins McDaniel, 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
The family requests that donations be made in Hazel’s name to St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 275, Colonial Beach, VA 22443.
Services were held at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Boundary Road, Colonal Beach, VA. Interment followed at Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.
