George Delany Tabler
George Delany Tabler, 79, of Summerfield FL, and formerly of King George VA passed away September 9, 2012.
Born November 22, 1932, in Montgomery County MD, he was the son of the late Lewis and Ethel Tabler.
Mr. Tabler honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a welder employed by the Naval Research Laboratory Washington DC and the Naval Support Activity Dahlgren Division Dahlgren, VA, retiring after 33 years of devoted service.
As a young man, he enjoyed horses, trains and playing football on a farm-team against the Baltimore Colts at their Western Maryland College Summer Camp, Westminster MD. Later on, he enjoyed his home and gardening, traveling with his wife, watching old western movies and college football, umpiring softball, golfing with his buddies, attending family reunions and serving many years of Masonic and Eastern Star membership and was also a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church, Belleview, FL and former member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, King George.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Lewis, John and Dorothy; and, in 2002, the passing of his beloved wife, Evelyn (Jones) Tabler of King George County. He is survived by many loving family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012, Noon, at Shiloh Baptist Church, King George. Pastor Mike Jessee will officiate.
