Terence (T.C.) Collins has announced he is running as a write in candidate in this year’s election for the James Monroe District school board position.
T.C. is a Virginia State Trooper. His wife Jennifer is an Assistant Principal at KGHS and he has a daughter who is a senior at KGHS.
From T.C.: "My platform is simple and straightforward:
Cooperation with the Board of Supervisors for comprehensive School Board budget. Fiscal responsibility. Have all schools meet state mandates and report accurate enrollment for full state funding. Retain competent teachers. Have all schools meet SOL and Federal accountability standards. Partner with the base and local business to support learning. Ensure school safety for all students, continue working with the King George Sheriff's Office and the Virginia State Police on safety incentives. Prepare each student for success, thru vocational and college prep programs. Endorse public- private partnerships to enhance sport programs. Every student deserves to have outstanding teachers and support staff to ensure their success and build good citizenship."
