Robert “Bobby” Crouch, of King George, was indicted Thursday, July 12, by the King George Grand Jury on 12 felony counts, seven of them for failure to deposit funds into a trust account and five for obtaining money under false pretenses. These charges were made on direct indictments. As of the filing of this story, there has been no record of his arrest.
Crouch purchased Historyland Memorial Park in September 2009. The first count on his indictments is dated for October, 2009 where he is charged with failure to deposit funds in the trust fund which is required by law.
Crouch owned the cemetery until September, 2010 at which time he filed for bankruptcy. The cemetery was then purchased at a foreclosure sale in December, 2010 by King George Cemetery Company, LLC, trading as Historyland Memorial Park which is now operating the cemetery.
In October 2010, Crouch was convicted on two felony counts by the Circuit Court of Spotsylvania County and received two three-year sentences, which were suspended on condition of good behavior and restitution.
