With elections just four weeks away and three vacant seats on the Colonial Beach School Board and only two write-in candidates to fill those seats, Colonial Beach schools are facing another hard break with the exit of Superintendent DonnaPower.
Colonial Beach Superintendent Donna Power announced Thursday morning Oct. 11 that she has accepted another superintendent position in Page County Public Schools.
She will remain in Colonial Beach until Nov. 30.
Page County's population count in the 2010 U.S. Census was 24,042. Page County has three incorporated towns, Stanley, Shenandoah and Luray, the county seat, and 18 unincorporated communities as well.
Dr. Power said in an e-mail that she has "always to live in this area of the state and the opportunity recently became available."
Page County is located at the northern tip of Virginia between Warren County to the North and Rappahannock County to the East.
More details as Superintendent Donna Power and school board officials are reached.
