Suspect arrested in shooting and robbery in Colonial Beach

Daniel Dwayne Hill, age 18 of Colonial Beach was arrested at 8 a.m. in connection with a shooting and robbery of a male resident in Colonial Beach at 4:39 a.m. Saturday, March 24.
Hill is being held at the Northern Neck Regional Jail without bond pending arraignment on March 27 in Westmoreland County General District Court.
Hill is charged with burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon, aggravated malicious wounding, abduction, robbery and four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Colonial Beach Police Department responded to a 911 call from a resident reporting that someone was attempting to break in to his home. When police arrived on the scene they found a male resident who had been shot. Police secured the area for emergency medical personnel.Colonial Beach Rescue Squad transported the shooting victim to Mary Washington Hospital where he is being treated for a non-life threatening gun shot wound.
Law enforcement from Westmoreland Sheriff’s Office, King George Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police with a K-9 were called into help.
A search of the area by K-9 and officers resulted in the apprehension of a suspect at approximately 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
