Letters to the editor

To the Editor:
Matt Barber (Women In Combat: Felony Stupid) believes that women should not be in combat units because he thinks we are incapable, weak and in need of protection.  He also dismisses as ‘stupid’ anyone who dares disagree with those beliefs, and offers in support of his argument, not scientific proof but the opinions of like-minded males.
He considers those of us who view women as true equals of men as ‘left-wing”, “progressives”  and “moronic”..  He claims expertise on the subject because he lives with women.  He ‘loves’  women, he claims, yet does he believe that we have the right to claim our own place in the world?  Do we have the right to fight for our nation, for our family with the same ferocity that men do?  Or are we to just sit and whimper until a man ‘saves’ us?  I suggest that he finds it far easier to dismiss the entire gender as needy than to face his own fears of the feminine and its incredible strength.
