Saturday, May 26   Fairview Beach annual Memorial Day Weekend 8 a.m.- 2 p.m Yard Sale, Bake Sale, Silent Auction.  BBQ lunch available starting at 11 a.m.  Fairview Beach Firehall.
Thursday, May 17
-KG County Historical Society to meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Revercomb Bldg.  Program by David Meisky on KG native “Extra Billy” Smith. All are invited to attend.  Light refreshments will be served.
-NN Chapter of the VA Native Plant Society will meet at noon at the Wicomico Parish Church House. Naturalist Ellis Squires will introduce Orchids of the Northern Neck, to be followed by an orchids in bloom walk at Hickory Hollow Natural Area Preserve at 2 p.m. Bring a brown bag lunch, tea/coffee/light refreshments available. Guests welcome.
Saturday, May 19
KG-ARL will hold benefit Yard Sale, 8 a.m.-noon. Hanover Parish Hall on Kings Hwy in KG. All profits to go to help animals in need. Donated items can be dropped off Fri. May 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Call  (540)846-3382 for more info.

Colonial Beach Lions Club will hold a Yard and Bake Sale on from 8 a.m.-noon at the Lions Rec Center, 717 Marshall Avenue.  Proceeds to benefit community affairs.

PONSHOP Studio & Gallery is hosting “The Art of Recovery” organized by RACSB, & features original artwork created by adults with mental illness. The PONSHOP is located at 712 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg,VA.  Open Daily.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints

is celebrating 4 years in the KG community. Join the King George Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for a Hot Dog Roast, Friday, May 11, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the LDS church (Rt. 205 between Rt. 3 and 301). Food and Activities are Free. All are invited to this celebration.

Antioch Baptist Church
Signing Sensations of God dance ministry will host a dance program, May 19 at 3:30 p.m. Other religious dance groups from the area will also be performing. Colonial Beach Baptist Church
is having Community Fair on Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be music, firetrucks display, police & rescue, Sponge Bob Square Pants, face painting, food, sno-cones, moon bounce and more. St. Peter's Episcopal Church
will celebrate a special Mother’s Day Blessing on Sunday, May 13 during the 9:15 a.m. Eucharist.
All moms and their children are welcome. The church’s newly formed Children’s Choir will be singing also.

First Baptist Church

Trinity Fellowship International Church will be having a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 12. All are welcome. St. Paul's Episcopal Church
is hosting their 2nd Annual Dessert Bingo on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.  Held in the parish house as a fundraiser for the Day School. 10 games of Bingo for $10. Macedonia Baptist Church

Little Zion Baptist Church
announces their food distribution schedule for May 2012. The Central VA Food Bank van will be at the church on Monday, May 14 at noon.
Little Zion’s food pantry is open the 3rd Saturday of each month to residents of the 22443 zip code. May 19 at 9 a.m. is the next scheduled event.

St. Mary's Episcopal Church

Young Life Group

KG Area Young Life currently meets on Thursdays, 7:57 p.m. at the KG-Y.  Students at KGHS are active in the Young Life club there. YL sponsor is Ms. Jenna Norris, (410) 925-4675). The mission of the Young Life organization is to introduce adolescents everywhere to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
