Thomas Byrd

Thomas Byrd, 62, of Tappahannock departed this life Monday, June 8, 2009.
He is survived by his niece, Ann Lewis-Jones of Greensboro, N.C., and a host of cousins and friends.
A viewing was held  Thursday, June 11, at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock. The funeral was held Friday, June 12, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hustle, with the Rev. Charles Johnson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Services of comfort are entrusted to Washington Funeral Home.

Freddie A. Stancil

Freddie A. Stancil, 69, of Colonial Beach died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at his home. A memorial service was held  June 16, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach.

Thelma E. Leake

Thelma E. Leake, 83, of King George County died Friday, June 12, 2009, at her residence. She was the widow of Carol B. Leake.
Mrs. Leake was a homemaker and lifelong resident of King George.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Diane Cox of King George; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A funeral was held  Monday, June 15, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with the Rev. Dennis Newton officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Washington Hospice.
