James W. Nave

James W. Nave, 74, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday May 25, 2009, at his home.
James was an avid fisherman and never missed an opportunity to cast a line.
James is survived by his sons, James W. Nave Jr. of Unionville, Michael W. Nave of Stafford County, and David Smith and Jim Smith, both of Fredericksburg; his brothers, Joseph, John and Roderick Nave, all of Fredericksburg; his sisters, Mary Hewitt of Stafford and Lilly Mae Casey of North Carolina; as well as nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his brother Andrew Nave and his stepdaughter Helen Dishman.
A graveside service was held  Thursday, May 28, at the Nave family cemetery in King George County.

Nancy C. Hodge

Nancy C. Hodge, 63, of King George County died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in King George.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Hodge of King George; her daughter, Jennifer L. Wise and her husband, Donald, of King George; her son, Robert D. Hodge Jr. and his wife, Robin, of King George; seven sisters, Shirley, Peggy, Barbara, Janice, Bonnie, Terry and Karen; two brothers, Jerry and Johnny; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Douglas, Joshua, Stephen and Robert III.
The funeral was held  Friday, May 29, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, King George. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Box 275, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.

Cynthia Trevett

Cynthia Trevett, 70, of Colonial Beach died Thursday, May 28, 2009.
Mrs. Trevett was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Colonial Beach.
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Trevett Sr. of Roanoke; two sons, Donald E. Trevett Jr. of Brandywine, Md., and Daniel E. Trevett of Roanoke; two sisters, Shirley Barney of Mannsville, N.Y., and Esther Sutliff of Springfield, Mass.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George. Burial will take place at a later date in Adams, N.Y.

George Marshall Arnold, Jr.

George Marshall Arnold Jr., 69, of Locust Grove died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Arnold graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria and served in the United States Army. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 30 years.
Mr. Arnold was a Past Master of Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge 120 in Alexandria in 1981; twice Past Master of Edward H. Cann Daylight Lodge 1752 in Fredericksburg; and past and present president of the Fredericksburg Shrine Club. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Fraternity and during recent years, he had been serving as a mentor to a number of newly made Masons in the Fredericksburg area.
At the time of his death, he was serving as king of the Fredericksburg Royal Arch Chapter 23; as an officer in the Inquisitors of Solomon Allied Masonic Degree Council 364 in Tappahannock; and ABAACA Grotto.
He also was a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 29 in Fredericksburg; the Heritage Shrine Club in King George mini truck patrol; and a member of the ACCA Temple in Richmond.
Survivors include his wife, Frances M. Arnold; his son, G.E. Arnold; his loving mother, Emma F. Bamberger of Fairfax; his aunt, Florence N. Mazzie of Alexandria; one adopted sister, one stepsister; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his father, John M. Arnold Sr.; his devoted brother, John B. Arnold; and his stepfather, Paul J. Bamberger.
A graveside service was held  Monday, June 1, in Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, Va. 22306, with the Rev. Richard Headley officiating.
