Jane Elizabeth Thompson

Jane Elizabeth Thompson, 80, of Stafford County passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at Woodmont Nursing Home.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Marie Canter and her husband, Dave, of Fredericksburg; a son, Calvin Jones and his wife, Doris, of King George County; three grandchildren, Janelle Simpson and her husband, Mike, and Charlie Cooke and his wife, Nicole, all of Stafford, and John Wray Williams and his fiancee, Alicia, of King George; and two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Hunter Simpson. Also surviving is her faithful companion Doggie Do.
A celebration of Jane’s life was held Friday, April 30, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Tim Dobson and the Rev. Dennis Newton officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Jane’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Jane’s memory to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.

Derrick Micah Pearl

Derrick Micah Pearl, 39, of Warsaw departed this life Monday, April 26, 2010, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Latrice Pearl; his mother, Audrey Pearl of Warsaw; four daughters, Duasis Pearl, Lynae Pearl, Krystiana Pearl and Dejanira Pearl, all of Warsaw; two sons, Jamal Black of Philadelphia, Pa., and Elijah Watson of Warsaw; two sisters, Karol Byrd of Warsaw and Sharon Smith of New Jersey; and one brother, Maurice Sumiel of Winchester.
A visitation was held on Friday, April 30, at New Zion Baptist Church, Newland Road, Warsaw, and before the funeral at the church on Saturday, May 1. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock.

Charles Lee Fisher

Charles Lee “Charlie” Fisher died April 6, 2010, at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital with his daughters Sharon Newman (Stanley) of Montross and Satonia Wilson (Darylle) of Hague at his bedside. A funeral was held April 10 at Potomac Baptist Church in Hague.

Rodester Brown

Rodester Brown, 79, of Colonial Beach died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Inova Alexandria Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Randolph Brown of Fort Washington, Md., and Donald Brown of Oklahoma; four daughters, Etta Brown of Washington, D.C., Brenda and Bernice Brown, both of Colonial Beach, and Caroline Brown of Capitol Heights, Md.; a sister, Delores Pierce of Colonial Beach; and 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at First Baptist Church, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. David Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Brooke Memorial Gardens in King George.
Remains may be viewed Thursday, May 6, from noon until 4 p.m. at the funeral home; the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Michael Anthony C. Antos

Michael Anthony Charles “Mike” Antos, 63, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Dahlgren and Cresskill, N.J., passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, of pancreatic cancer.
He was born July 10, 1946. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary N. Antos; his father, William H. Antos Sr.; and his brother, William H. Antos Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan Mostyn Antos; his niece, Carol Antos Florio of Cresskill; his nephews, William R. Antos of Hyannis, Mass., and Glenn Ellis of Manchester, Conn.; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Mostyn of Downingtown, Pa.; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Upon his graduation from Georgetown University in 1968, Mr. Antos received the W. Coleman Nevils History Medal. Following his service in the U.S. Army in Korea, he received a M.S. degree from Syracuse University in 1972.
His career as a personnel management adviser at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren spanned 24 years. In 1989, he was presented the Paul J. Martini Award for distinguished civilian service.
Mr. Antos was an active member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, and a member of the Civil War Roundtable.
He happily retired at age 50 and spent the next 13 years helping relatives, friends and neighbors in countless ways. Mr. Antos, with his engaging personality, was uniquely adept at fostering connections with friends, family members and other beneficiaries of his random acts of kindness. He had a way of making everyone feel special. His handwritten correspondence delivered in person or by post brought joy to all.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 4, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
